Bulova Acutron Mirador 65R138

I know that most of us can agree that tax time is the best time of the year other than Christmas. Essentially it is Christmas for adults, it the time when Uncle Sam sends out our yearly gift for all the hard work we did throughout the year. Although tax refund time had long past, as my check arrived late, I received a whopping $7,000 in which, I, of course, as any woman went on a shopping spree for my kids and my husband. It was until I had spent nearly four thousand of it that I realized I had not purchased anything for myself. Considering that I have always loved jewelry, but never owned a quality time piece, I decided I would stop by Kay jewelers in my local mall and see what would tickle my fancy.

As I gazed into the only glass display that had women's watches, with my mother urging me towards the Movado watches, as she owns one herself, I realized that her and mine own taste were completely different in terms of jewelry. There however was a rather glamorous, but casual watch by Bulova that caught my eye so I decided to come back a few days later. Debating the price of the watch and whether it would be something I could wear everyday with several types of outfits is what really stalled me as far as purchasing this item. Finally after talking it over with my husband, as I always ask for his opinion when buying something, we decided it would be best not to lose such a beautiful piece of jewelry.

I can remember to this day how excited I was as we parked and made our way to the store. I felt like a kid going to a candy shop. As we stopped in front of the display case, a gentlemen representative immediately greeted us and asked what I was interested in viewing today. I immediately said I would like to see that watch in pink (my favorite color). As he handed me that timepiece, he began clasp it on to my wrist and hand me a mirror to see how it would look. I, of course, asked about what material it was made of and if the shiny stones on the bezel and dial of the watch were diamonds (my other love).

Bulova Acutron Mirador 65R138 In Pale Pink Retail $1,500
He stated "this is pink ceramic with stainless steel, its a quartz timepiece and offers 50 individually hand set diamonds on bezel and patterned white mother-of-pearl dial, with pink cabochon crown and luminous hands". It also had a significant weight to it as it laid on my wrist. I was surprised that it would as it is a women's watch. While staring at it gleam on my naked wrist, I faced another dilemma, this star was available in white as well, which happens to be my second favorite color. What's a girl to do? The white and pink were in serious competition. If I had enough to spare without blowing my bank account, I would have bought them both. As you may have already guessed, I decided to go with the pale pink, which I got on a steal, since the watch retails for $1,500 and I purchased for 1,380 with tax included.

My Pretty In Pink Mirador
As far as the features of this watch, I would have to say that it is pretty plain and simple. The Mirador has everything you need from a timepiece that you would occasionally use for time and date when your cellphone is not available. I do have some complaints about the watch. The first and most importantly being the date dial that does automatically change date daily, but for example this September when the date went from the 30th to the 1st of October, my watch went from the 30th to the 31st, therefore forcing me to have to manually wind my watch to the correct date. Although most people wouldn't mind, I hate that because doing so is a lot easier than said. To do so you have to turn a knob on the side of the watch, which sometimes gets stuck and then fiddle with it until the dial starts to turn. This is the reason that the above pictures shows 2 rather than 3. Another problem I have is that the rotating bezel started to click sometime after I got the watch when pressed down, which it never did before. Other than those issues I mentioned, I love my watch and wear it everyday with everything. I have gotten many compliments from women and men while running errands and makes this significant purchase worthwhile.

If you are a woman looking for a casual watch or a man searching for an elegant everyday timepiece for your significant other, I would highly suggest this for your date and time needs. It sparkles beautifully in the sun. Just beware that because the band is ceramic, one good bump into a wall or on a solid surface can damage or break this fragile watch. I hope this helps any of you interested in this in this product.
